I recently inherited a PSR-410 and a copy of Cakewalk Apprentice. I can play a song in Cakewalk and hear it through the PSR's speakers, and can also play notes on the PSR and record them in Cakewalk.

I would like to record a song on the PSR in order to save it for replay disconnected from the PC.

I configure the keyboard to begin recording (select a memory page, press REC and MELODY and/or ACCOMP), then start playing the song in Cakewalk. The PSR behaves as if recording: I hear the song through its speakers, and the measure indicator increments in time with Cakewalk's display. The PSR also stops recording when Cakewalk finishes sending the song.

However, when I press the Play button on the PSR, the measure indicator starts incrementing, but I get no sound from the speakers. The "song" will play all the way
through the final measure and stop. So it appears the song is there in some form but I can't hear it.

I have maximized the velocity and volume of the tracks being sent to no avail.

What dumb thing am I doing wrong?
